SCOPE

This course has been designed to improve the safety and survivability of victims of active attack and mass shooting events through introduction of the ADD strategy (also known as Run, Hide, Fight) combined with concepts in the Stop the Bleed campaign.

Bleeding is the #1 preventable cause of death due to trauma
You can bleed to death in 2 to 3 minutes
Tourniquets are the primary treatment used for preventable death, due to bleeding from extremities
The Goal is to properly apply a tourniquet in 20 seconds or less
